About
The Woodford County Heritage Committee is a nonprofit whose purpose is the preservation, protection, renovation and conservation of buildings, structures, sites, and other landmarks associated with the archaeological, cultural, economic, military, natural, political or social aspect of the history of Woodford County, Kentucky. The further purpose of the WCHC is to support the Jack Jouett House Historic Site.
The mission of the WCHC is to make recommendations regarding the preservation of the Jack Jouett House and its contents and the communication of its story to the widest possible audience, utilizing the highest possible professional museum standards.
The vision of WCHC is to maximize the power of the story of Jack Jouett to enrich and transform the lives of Woodford County residents and visitors. The WCHC is:
• A home for collections and programs that reflect and serve the diversity of Woodford County residents and visitors from other locales.
• A partner in helping people make connections with history and the Jouett family.
• An advocate and steward of historical resources and facilitator of compelling, substantive, and enjoyable learning experiences.
• A broad network of supporters, public officials, members, donors, volunteers, and others who work to extend our impact and strengthen our future.
