About

The Mission of the New Opportunity School for Women is to improve the financial, educational and personal circumstances of under-resourced women in the south-central Appalachian region and Kentucky. Taking inspiration from Dr. Lissa Rankin's "Whole Health Cairn", the New Opportunity approaches our work with a focus on balance. We work with participants in both our residential and non-residential programs to accomplish their financial, educational, or personal goals by providing the tools to help them find balance. We offer two, 2-week Residential Sessions with classes on topics like self-esteem, health, expressive arts, Appalachian literature, and so much more. We also offer 3-day Non-Residential programs in various communities. All of our programs are free to the participants.
