About

Mission

To honor with “Solemn Pride” the service and sacrifice of the men and women of the Kentucky National Guard who have perished in the line of duty by providing for the perpetual operation and maintenance of a dignified and suitable monument commemorating “the cherished memory of the loved and lost” who “have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.”

Vision

To serve as an enduring monument to the lost souls of the Kentucky National Guard who died while serving our nation and the Commonwealth. To provide a sacred space for families, friends, and citizens to remember, reflect, and learn about the values of selfless service to a cause greater than themselves by linking the sacrifices of the past with the service of the present, and the challenges of the future.

The Kentucky National Guard Memorial located at the entrance to Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort, Kentucky serves as an enduring monument to the lost souls of the Kentucky National Guard who died while serving our nation and the Commonwealth. It was constructed in 2015 to provide a sacred space for families, friends, and citizens to remember, reflect, and learn about the values of selfless service to a cause greater than themselves by linking the sacrifices of the past with the service of the present, and the challenges of the future.
