About
Friends of Huntertown Community Interpretive Park is a nonprofit whose mission is to support and promote the development of Huntertown Community Interpretive Park (HCIP) as a living museum and public park. The Friends will help mobilize resources to support projects that will assure the impact of the park on the quality of life for current and future generations. Huntertown Community Interpretive Park honors the legacy of Huntertown, an African American hamlet or "freetown" settled in 1871 after the Civil War. The park sits on 38 beautiful acres of greenspace on the site of the former community.
