About
Lexington Pride Center envisions a world free of marginalization where all LGBTQIA+ people are free to be who they are and love who they love. We work to improve the lives of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, or otherwise a minority with regard to sexuality or gender expression (LGBTQIA+) in Kentucky. We accomplish this by helping LGBTQIA+ people find connection, resources, and reassurance that they belong. We offer an open, welcoming space for people of different ages, genders, sexualities, races, abilities, and income levels to find their place within our incredibly diverse LGBTQIA+ family. We provide a free monthly food bank for the community as well as one-on-one victim advocacy resources and multiple support and social groups at the Pride Center. In addition we provide a community education program offering LGBTQIA+ cultural competency and we produce the Lexington Pride Festival each year. We never know who will contact us next looking for help, for information, for a welcome. Sometimes their needs are as simple as picking up a magazine or a pamphlet, but other times they are more complicated. Fortunately, the Lexington Pride Center provides a wide range of services to fill the diverse needs of our community.
