Recording: Re-engaging Volunteers - Transforming Disruption to Impact
Tuesday, January 1, 2030
Description
For generations, engaging volunteers has been a vital strategy for communities to solve problems. Yet, events since 2020 have disrupted how people work and volunteer. The pandemic. An increased spotlight of social inequities. The “Great Resignation.” And now, inflation. While disruption can be devastating, it can also be the impetus to release ourselves from the tyranny of “the way we’ve always done things.” If viewed as an opportunity, disruption invites us to revisit, rethink, and reinvent the way we achieve mission. Join KNN and Serve Kentucky for a virtual event designed to help us re-engage volunteers.
In this recording, hear the common threads of disruptions affecting volunteerism, along with strategies for transforming those disruptions into impact by engaging or re-engaging volunteers.
Then, be inspired by stories from organizational leaders across the state who unlocked the potential of volunteer engagement in their own communities. Panelists include Holly Sanders, Tutoring Director at Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning; Collin Brown, Volunteer Coordinator at Feeding America Kentucky's Heartland; Kendra Calhoun, Director of Operations at Boys & Girls Clubs of Appalachia; and Kelly Cox, Volunteer Coordinator/Trainer at CASA of Graves County & Southwest Kentucky.
In this recording, learn lessons that you can apply to sustain your organization regardless of what the future holds.
