Amplify Your Mission: The Power of Nonprofit Advocacy (Grayson)
Tuesday, August 4, 2026 (10:00 AM - 12:30 PM) (EDT)
Description
Engaging your elected officials on behalf of those you serve is as important a business strategy for your nonprofit as fundraising. In fact, it’s not only legally permitted for 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofits - it’s expected that nonprofits effectively educate policymakers and amplify your mission for organizational success. And it doesn’t have to be “one more thing…” or intimidating.
In this Kentucky Nonprofit Network workshop, we help you embrace the critical role your organization plays in speaking up for your mission and those you serve. You’ll learn:
- the critical role nonprofits must play in advocacy and education;
- how your nonprofit can gain a seat at the table and ensure your voice and the voices of those you serve are heard to create a thriving community;
- the best strategies for effectively connecting and building relationships with decision-makers; and
- practical tips and easy-to-use resources to get started or strengthen your advocacy work.
Are you:
- Seeking greater impact for your nonprofit?
- Looking to build relationships with elected officials to increase your organization’s government funding opportunities?
- Eager to identify simple action steps for elevating the voice and needs of your organization and those you serve?
- Ready to stand together with other nonprofits to ensure the needs of the community are being heard and met?
Then invest in your mission and your organization’s future – join Kentucky Nonprofit Network at this FREE, in-person workshop. And bring a board member!
Times: 10:00am-12:30pm ET (check-in and networking begins at 9:30am)
During the training, we will launch the Northeastern Kentucky Nonprofit Coalition (NEKNC), a regional advocacy alliance of KNN members committed to a stronger, more unified, and collaborative nonprofit sector serving the Northeastern Kentucky region. The region includes the following counties: Boyd, Carter, Greenup, Lawrence, Elliott, Rowan, Bath, Menifee, Morgan, and Montgomery. The coalition will be Eastern Kentucky’s second KNN nonprofit coalition, following the launch of the Southeastern KY Nonprofit Coalition in July 2025. If you are a charitable nonprofit interested in joining the NEKNC, email Ashleigh to learn more about how you can join as a founding member!
