Tuesday, April 8, 2025 (12:00 PM - 1:15 PM) (EDT)

Description

This event is offered by our partner in another state. Please double-check times and time zones prior to registering.

For centuries, we’ve known that the health of the brain and the body are connected. But now, science can provide insights into how to make lifestyle choices that may help you keep your brain and body healthy as you age. Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity, volunteerism, the importance of self-care/mental health on your brain, and social engagement. Use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.

Participants will learn to:

  • Identify how certain behaviors affect our brains and bodies
  • List strategies for healthy decision-making in the following areas: Sleep, Smoking, Mental Health, Physical activity, balanced nutrition, cognitive engagement, and social engagement.
  • Explain the benefits of volunteering for long-term brain health

Offered by our partner, Iowa Nonprofit Alliance
