Town Hall Meeting Recording: How Nonprofits Can Engage Voters and Support Democracy

Tuesday, January 1, 2030

Description

KNN hosts calls every other week via Zoom to discuss updates related to COVID-19, nonprofit resources, advocacy initiatives, and other relevant topics. Join us at 10:30am ET every other Thursday.

Nonprofits can play a vital role in strengthening American democracy by registering and engaging voters to ensure full participation in the democratic process. And doing so does not threaten an organization’s tax-exempt status. On the September 1, 2022 call, speakers join us to share up-to-date information on KY elections, voter registration, and how your nonprofit can do its part to encourage participation in our democracy. First, Caitlin Donnelly, Program Director at Nonprofit VOTE, shares information on National Voter Registration Day, KY voter registration basics, voter education tips and materials, and the Nonprofit Staff Vote Campaign. Then, Jennifer. A. Jackson, M.D., Co-President of the League of Women Voters of Lexington and Chair of Voter Services for the LWVKY, shares more on Ky-specific election updates including the new voting laws for 2022.
