Center for Nonprofit Excellence: Census Solutions Workshop

Tuesday, October 22, 2019 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

This hyper-interactive, design thinking workshop will bring together the local nonprofit sector to learn more about the 2020 Census, discover how your organization can be involved, form new collaborations, and most importantly, identify innovative ways we can all help to ensure Kentuckiana gets a complete and accurate count.

The results of this census will determine representation in Congress and billions of dollars in funding for our communities, including roads, affordable housing, healthcare, schools, and parks. In bringing together nonprofit organizations, we seek to strengthen ties across the community, and ensure an accurate count, especially of historically under-counted populations.

Throughout the morning, you will better understand why the 2020 Census is so important to our community, and what/why certain populations are hard to count. We think outside the box and brainstorm ideas for how to reach all throughout our region, especially hard-to-count populations, and create a plan to move the needle on response rates.

Workshop partners include the U.S. Census Bureau, Kentucky Youth Advocates, and Kentucky Nonprofit Network.

Cost: Free for members/ $25 for nonmembers.
