SUMMARY:Introduction to Individual Donor Development
DESCRIPTION:This event is offered by our partner in another state. Please double-check times and time zones prior to registering. It sounds easier to go after that One Big Grant to get the resources for your mission\, but institutional givers can change priorities and sometimes require a lot of program restrictions. Individual donors rarely restrict gifts\, and recurring donors can be the gift that keeps giving!Join Steve Boland\, director of Next in Nonprofits\, to learn about starting your work in individual donor support. The session will cover:Initial list building who are you going to ask for support?Moving people up the engagement ladder from curious to supporter to donorUsing peer-support to grow your donor baseCreating a process for donor stewardship\, including automation and online tools as appropriateBuilding a calendar of campaigns for the year (wait what's a campaign?)Participants will leave the session with an overview of options to build regular\, unrestricted giving for your mission work.Speaker Information:Steve Boland (he/him) is a nonprofit veteran with over twenty-five years of experience helping charities grow with new ideas in fundraising and communications. He has served as executive director of three organizations before founding Next in Nonprofits in 2013. Steve has presented over 100 learning sessions on topics such as crowdfunding\, engaging corporate philanthropy\, and social media strategy for nonprofits. Steve disputes his Myers Briggs Type characterization of Commander (ENTJ) as any kind of apt descriptor\, as authentic leadership never comes from issuing orders. A graduate of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities\, Steve holds a Master of Nonprofit Management from Hamline University and is an alumnus of the Shannon Leadership Institute.Offered by our partner\, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits
